Welcome to the Bunbury Branch of the Ulysses
Bunbury is located approximately 200kms south of Perth right on the coast. It is a perfect base to experience some of the best the south west has to offer. We have at our doorstep beautiful beaches, delightful dolphins, vineyards aplenty, forests and some terrific roads for riding to access these attractions.
The Bunbury Branch was the first one in Western Australia outside of Perth. We were formed in 1984 after our first member, Mr Wayne Millar, had attended a Ulysses AGM held in Alice Springs. Bunbury held the Ulysses AGM in 1997 after 3 years of planning.
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month (except for January, when there is no meeting) at the Highway Hotel and welcome any new or existing members to join us. Dinner is at 6.00pm followed by the meeting at 7.00pm Our group has an organised ride on the first and third Sunday of each month on every other Sunday there is what we refer to as a Clayton’s ride. Check out our ride calendar (on this site) and join us for a ride when you are in town.
Our Branch has been very involved in raising funds for the Ulysses Arthritis Research Fund (UCARF) as well as other functions to help out the cancer council and other charities. We have been the top fundraising branch in Australia for 2010 (we came a close second last year). Our fundraising is generally done in such a “disgraceful” way that most people enjoy being a part of it.
